Practice Expectations:
Every student is graded on the expectation of practicing 100 minutes per week. This averages out to 20 minutes per day / five days per week. Students will have practice assignments from the methods books and additional concert sheet music. The full practice grading scale is located on the bottom of the practice logs. It is very important that each student hand in the practice logs as they determine the practice grade on the HCPSS Instrumental Music Report Card.
Band Schedule
Every band student will receive one hour of instruction per week. The lessons are divided into two 1/2-hour lesson blocks. All band students will be required to miss one recess per week for a lesson. For the second lesson, students will be pulled from the content block of classroom instruction or from a portion of related arts. Students are NOT pulled from reading or math instruction. Each student is responsible for making-up any missed work.
Band Handbook
Each participating band student was given a copy of the new band handbook. The handbook provides detailed information on the policies and procedures for the Lisbon Band. Each student was asked to return selected forms signed by both the student and a parent. Click on the link above to review and print the handbook.
